Lumineers: Contact-lens-thin Veneers
Porcelain Veneers have done wonders for improving the look and confidence of thousands. Having the benefits of the beauty of porcelain, the new Lumineers boasts the same beautiful result without the removal of significant tooth structure. While traditional porcelain usually requires the removal of 1~1.5mm of tooth structure for the porcelain to be of adequate strength, the new patented Cerinate porcelain (“Lumineers”) can be made as thin as a contact lens (~0.3mm) therefore requiring minor or no removal of tooth structure. This special porcelain is crafted through a proprietary process unavailable anywhere other than the Cerinate Smile Design Studios owned by the makers of the Cerinate porcelain, Den-Mat Corporation. Adding icing to the cake, this Cerinate porcelain has a clinical track record of 20 years.

If you have stained, chipped, discolored, misaligned teeth, or old crown and bridgework that needs revitalizing, Lumineers may be the answer for you. If you are apprehensive about major dental treatment or not disciplined enough to consistently do teeth-whitening, Lumineers is here to remove your obstacles and leave you with a dazzling smile. Impression Dental Care is proud to be offering such wonderful innovation and service to our patients.

Sterilox: Eliminating Dental UnitWaterline Biofilm
The problem is smaller than you may think. Microscopic to be exact. We are talking microorganisms with big names like Pseudomonas aeruginosa, nontuberculous Mycobacterium, and Legionella to name a few. Thousands of them. These microorganisms living in dental unit water lines (DUWLs) catch a ride on the aerosol mist generated by the dental handpiece, ultrasonic, and other dental unit devices and can live everwhere – like in our body. Not surprisingly research shows an increase in gram-negative bacteria and legionella antibodies in dental health care workers.

And though Uncle Sam has mandated that the public drinking water must have no more than 500 colony forming units per milliliter (cfu/mL), studies have shown DUWL having numbers in the 10’s of thousands!

Now the ADA has released quidelines recommending that the dental profession bring these numbers into compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act. The solution is Sterilox by Ultradent. Sterilox provides a safe, fast, effective and on-going solution for removal of biofilm in DUWLs. The unique patented technology of the Sterilox is an innovative electrolytic water treatment. The process generates a super-oxidized broad spectrum biocide solution eliminating the need to use expensive toxic chemicals detrimental to both the dental unit and the user. Sterilox keeps the DUWL, and the aerosol mist we all breath, problem free.
It is very important to us that our patients are receiving the best in technology and skill for optimum aesthetics and function. However, it is equally important to us that our patients’ health and safety is maintained if not improved. At Impression Dental Care, we are not interested in superficially impressing our patients, but are concerned for our patients’ long-term well-being. This is the reason why we pay attention to even areas that may never be noticed by the patients and therefore oftentimes overlooked or ignored by many offices.

Invisalign: Invisible braces
Invisalign uses a series of nearly undetectable aligners instead of brackets and wires. So it’s really hard for people to tell you’re wearing Invisalign even up close. Invisalign can give you the smile you’ve always wanted without the braces you’ve always avoided. Because there are no metal wires and brackets, Invisalign is comfortable. And because it’s removable, eating, brushing and flossing are no problem. You can still enjoy your favorite foods and smile without holding back. With Invisalign, there’s nothing to hide. Whether your teeth are too crowded, too far apart, or have shifted since wearing braces previously, invisalign will give you a new reason to smile. Invisalign is so effective that it is used by more than 70% of orthodontists in the US and Canada.

How Invisalign works:

1. You wear a set of aligners – which looks like clear bleaching trays – for about 2 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss.

2. When replacing each aligner with the next set, your teeth will move – little by little from week to week – until they have straightened to the final position as directed by the dentist.

3. You’ll be visiting your dentist about once every 6 weeks to make sure that your treatment is working as planned.

4. The total treatment plan varies with each individual but averages about 9~15 months and the average number of aligners worn during that time is between 18~30.

Invisalign has opened up an exciting way for adults and teenagers to have straight teeth discreetly. Now there is no excuse for anyone not to have a beautiful smile!
