Choosing a Practice

There are several factors to keep in mind when you are looking
to find a dental provider who you can entrust your dental
needs for a lifetime.
Are the credentials
of the doctor exceptional?
The schools that the doctor attended speaks a lot about the
doctor’s dedication to education and excellence. Any
additional residencies or programs that the doctor participated
in also indicates that the doctor is not satisfied with the
bare minimum but that he or she has a quest for superior knowledge
and for the latest and best techniques.
Is the doctor
quality conscious?
You deserve to be treated not only with kindness
but with the best that today’s technology has to offer.
Dentistry is a truly technology driven field where superior
technology can take excellent techniques and skills to even
higher levels. There are numerous new equipment and supplies
that can aid us in delivering quality dentistry that is far
superior to the dentistry of 10 or even 1 year ago.
Is the doctor
meticulous and artistic?
Because dentistry is working in a very small area –
the mouth, it is important that the doctor is detailed oriented.
This meticulous characteristic may be evident in the doctor's
appearance and the way the office is designed, organized and
maintained. Any one can learn to play a musical instrument
or draw. However, how you excel at musical performance or
art requires natural talent or inclination that is God-given.
Most dentists advertise that they perform Cosmetic Dentistry,
but that may not necessarily mean they excel at Cosmetic Dentistry.
Another place to look would be at the before and after smile
makeover photos. Although most pictures will be better after
than before, look carefully for harmony and balance in the
final smile in addition to mere straighter or whiter looking
teeth.
Is the doctor
and the dental team caring?
The philosophies of the doctor are usually reflected in the
dental team as a whole. Good people usually hire good people
and good people usually are loyal to good people. Feel the
positive atmosphere between the team and look for positive
signs such as, courtesy, kindness, genuine smiles, and a passion
about the services being offered. Look to see if the office
has taken the time to invest in a wide variety of patient
education materials for your benefit. Pay attention to whether
the doctor and the staff spends sufficient time with you or
if they frequently rush off to another patient in the next
room. Look to see if they care of about your comfort level
(e.g. availability of Nitrous Oxide, slow gentle injection,
clean up towels after a procedure, relaxing dental spa treatments,
a follow up call after major dental work…).
If quality is important to you as it is
to us, we invite you to become our lifetime partner in maintaining
optimal dental health and developing that million dollar smile
for you and your family.
